Call for Creators

The Muse is growing.

We’re building a network of local artists, poets, writers, musicians, makers, and creative collaborators interested in sharing their work with guests of The Muse in thoughtful, unexpected ways.

Creative work may be featured in a variety of formats, including rotating wall art, poetry broadsides, chapbooks, gallery displays, sculptures and dimensional art, playlists, themed exhibits, and formats we've yet to imagine. It may even manifest as unique experiences for guests.

This page will eventually include specific calls for upcoming projects, exhibits, and collaborations. For now, we’re accepting general interest from local creators who would like to be considered as The Muse concept takes shape.

To submit your work for consideration, send a short introduction, a few work samples, and any relevant links to submissions@fifthstardestinations.com. You’re also welcome to reach out with questions, ideas, or to propose creative collaborations.

More details, coming soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Muse is a collection of immersive short-term rental spaces designed to connect guests with local artists, poets, musicians, and makers. Rather than treating art as decoration, The Muse integrates creative work into the identity and experience of each space through:

  • rotating exhibits
  • creator features
  • QR-linked artist pages
  • in-home merchandise sales
  • music integration
  • guest interaction elements
  • workshops, performances, and future collaborative events

Our goal is to create meaningful visibility and opportunities for creators while offering guests a more memorable and emotionally engaging experience.

We welcome a wide range of creative submissions, including:

  • original artwork
  • prints
  • photography
  • poetry
  • digital art
  • mixed media
  • music
  • installations
  • handcrafted goods
  • creative workshop concepts

Different spaces may have different aesthetics, themes, and spatial needs.

Nope!

Most creators submit existing work they feel would be a good fit for a particular space or atmosphere. While site-specific work is always welcome, it's not expected.

We aim to keep exhibit timelines flexible and collaborative.

Our current vision is for many pieces to remain on display for approximately 6–12 months, with staggered rotations over time rather than complete exhibit overhauls all at once.

That said, we understand creators may have shows, sales opportunities, or changing needs, and we want the arrangement to remain mutually beneficial and adaptable.

Nope!

Creators maintain full ownership of their work and are free to sell, exhibit, or promote pieces through other galleries, shows, websites, or platforms while participating in The Muse.

If a displayed piece sells elsewhere or is needed temporarily for another event, we simply ask for reasonable communication and coordination around guest schedules and property access to retrieve the work.

Definitely! And it already has been.

Guests may purchase original artwork, prints, or merchandise directly through The Muse using creator QR codes and linked storefronts.

If an original piece sells while on display, we may ask whether the artist would like to replace it with another available work.

Not currently, but we may in the future. At this stage, our primary focus is building visibility, opportunity, and value for participating creators while refining the long-term structure of the program collaboratively.

We may explore a commission structure in the future as the program grows, but creators would receive advance notice well ahead of any changes so pricing and participation decisions can be adjusted accordingly.

Platforms like Airbnb and VRBO include damage protection programs that should provide coverage for guest-caused damage, subject to documentation requirements and platform policies.

To support this process:

  • our team documents the condition of original work on display after each group checks out
  • creators may provide any documentation they feel appropriately establishes the value of their work

We are also actively exploring additional insurance options as the project expands.

Not necessarily.

We’re happy to collaborate with creators regarding framing, installation methods, security hardware, anti-theft systems, and display recommendations based on the needs of the piece and the space.

Basic framing options may also be available for participating creators depending on the project.

Potentially, yes. Let us know if this is something you're interested in! One of our long-term goals is expanding opportunities for creators through:

  • workshops
  • live performances
  • pop-ups
  • collaborative events
  • creative guest experiences
  • merchandise partnerships
  • educational offerings

We’re especially interested in experiences that align with the immersive, creative, and community-oriented spirit of The Muse.

We’re currently accepting rolling submissions and collaboration inquiries. You can reach out with:

  • portfolio links
  • social media
  • work samples
  • project ideas
  • workshop concepts
  • performance inquiries
  • questions about upcoming spaces

We’re excited to continue building this community together.
